“Ghana Fails to Improve Performance on Corruption Perception Index- how can Ghana improve its corruption perception?”

Ghana Fails to Improve Performance on Corruption Perceptions Index.

In Transparency International’s latest Corruption Perceptions Index for 2019, Ghana scored 41 out of a maximum score of 100 (where 0 is highly corrupt and 100 is very clean). This is identical to Ghana’s score in the previous (2018) Corruption Perceptions Index. Although Ghana has maintained its score, its global ranking has fallen by two (2) places, from 78th to 80th in the world.

This is Ghana’s second worst performance on the index since 1998; with 2017 being the poorest to date.

In relation to other sub-saharan nations, Ghana tied with Benin  as 10th least corrupt nation. The best performing Sub-Saharan African nation on the Index was Seychelles  with a score of 66 and a global ranking of 27th. Other nations that recorded better performances for the sub-region included Botswana , Mauritius , Senegal and South Africa

Is this a satisfactory performance?
