IMANI Center for Policy & Education is a Think Tank of considerable local and international repute and significance. We have carved a niche in Ghana’s policy environment for putting out objective, independent analysis and critique on many issues, using tried and tested techniques that apply across different disciplines. Through effective communication skills and the ability to work with public-spirited media and civil society, we are shaping national, regional and global agenda in order to close the “citizen participation gap” in the governance process
While most think tanks particularly in our part of the world have a habit of specializing in specific sectors, IMANI avoids this approach. Instead we have over the years developed a ‘set of tools’ that enables us to scrutinize public policies that are likely to have systemic impact on the citizenry for value- for-money, due diligence and vested interest analysis and communicate our results as widely as possible. This approach enables us to work on a wide range of issues from varied sectors.
However, as part of our efforts to improve the efficiency of our activities, we have taken some measures to better streamline our core areas of interest. We have ‘partitioned’ our research activities in special sectors which are run by Centre Heads under the direction of Head of Research. The various Centres we have now include, Centre for Economic Governance and Political Affairs, Centre for Social Policy, Centre for the Study of Energy and Natural Resources and Centre for Climate Change, Agriculture and Environmental Studies.
A crucial benefit of this operational restructuring is that it will enable our key stakeholders particularly the media to contact key IMANI staff to speak to specific issues with ease. This is also meant to ease the level of media pressure on the President and VPs of the organization.
Below is a list of the current Centre Leads as well as other Staff who are mandated to speak in the media with their corresponding areas of expertise.
