IMANI Press: IMANI President Meets with Presidential Committee on Emoluments and Sub-Saharan Africa Boss of IDRC

Mr. Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Center for Policy and Education had two important engagements today, March, 4, 2016: one with the Regional Director for Sub-Saharan Africa of the International Development Research Centre and the other with the Presidential Committee on Emoluments.

Mr. Cudjoe appears before the Presidential Committee on Emoluments to recommend how emoluments and other privileges for   Article  71 Office Holders should be done. He will share his views with the Public after the Committee has finished its work and publicly published its report. Article 71 is the provision of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana which determines the modalities of remunerations and allowances paid to some select public office holders, notably, the Speaker and Deputy Speakers and members of Parliament; the Chief Justice and the other Justices of the Superior Court of Judicature,  the Auditor-General, the Chairman and Deputy Chairmen of the Electoral Commission, the commissioner for Human Rights and Administrative Justice and his Deputies and the District Assemblies Common Fund Administrator among others.

The Regional Director for Sub-Saharan Africa of the International Development Research Centre, a Multi donor and research organisation of the Canadian Government called on Mr. Cudjoe to discuss prospects for collaboration.
