IMANI Centre for Policy & Education (IMANI) in collaboration with Italian based think tank Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM) is organising  a high level workshop to discuss Gas utilization, Gas Pricing and Inclusive Development in Ghana.

In light of the fact that Ghana is actively exploiting its gas resources which have the potential to significantly change the fuel supply dynamics in Ghana over the next fifteen years, IMANI and FEEM believe that a deeper understanding of natural gas utilisation and gas pricing is crucial in understanding linkages to broad-based development and inclusive growth in Ghana. This, we believe would provide a basis for informed discussions on gas use and gas pricing and what to look out for in dealing with various stakeholder institutions on related matters.

To facilitate the discussions, research and analysis has been conducted on the topic of Gas Price Formation in Ghana by Dr. Theophilus Acheampong, Senior FellowIMANI and Dr. Manfred Hafner, Senior Fellow, Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM). All major stakeholders in the industry have been invited.

The report will be launched and discussed at the workshop. Details of the workshop are as follows:

Venue: ALISA Hotel

Date: Monday, 21st January, 2019

The workshop will further seek to provide an understanding of the status of gas market reforms in Ghana, gas market dynamics and the impact of domestic natural gas pricing on electricity tariffs in Ghana.

This event is strictly by invitation. We hope invitees will share your opinions on the subject.
