On November 5, 2024, IMANI Center for Policy & Education, supported by the British High Commission in Accra, hosted a significant event focused on the critical analysis of political party manifestos ahead of Ghana’s upcoming 2024 elections. Held at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra, the event attracted policymakers, political analysts, the media and members of the public who are keenly interested in the promises and plans that political parties have outlined for Ghana’s future.
The event, dubbed “Critical Analysis of Political Party Manifestos 2024,” aimed to scrutinize and evaluate the feasibility, impact, and credibility of the commitments made by three of Ghana’s political parties (NPP, NDC & M4C). This annual initiative by IMANI aimed to foster informed decision-making among the electorate by offering an unbiased assessment of each party’s agenda. By doing so, IMANI empowers voters with the knowledge to hold parties accountable to their promises.
The presentation covered various areas of Ghana’s socio-economic landscape, including economic development, healthcare, education, and governance reforms. Insights into the practicality of manifesto pledges was assessed as to whether they align with Ghana’s current economic realities and development needs.
This event was broadcast live on Channel One TV and IMANI’s digital platform, ensuring that a wide audience could access the information. This transparency reinforces IMANI’s commitment to promoting accountability and evidence-based policy discussions in Ghana.
